ITUM Career Fair 2025 Interview Day Accelerates NDT Industrial Placements
The ITUM Career Fair 2025 achieved its most operationally intensive milestone with the Interview Day, held on October 23rd, 2025. As the central recruitment engine of the fair, the event delivered a seamless, large-scale platform that directly connected the graduating NDT 2022 cohort with leading organisations across Sri Lanka for their mandatory industrial training placements.
Career Fair Interview Day
The Interview Day represented one of the most logistically complex events in the ITUM calendar. The Industrial Training, Career Guidance, and Post Diploma Education Centre coordinated the full spectrum of planning, industry liaison, and on-site execution to ensure an uninterrupted recruitment flow throughout the day.
Reflecting the event’s national importance and the strong confidence of employers in the NDT qualification, this year’s Interview Day recorded:
- Participation from over 50 major companies, representing key sectors of the Sri Lankan economy.
- Nearly 100 interview panels operating simultaneously, supported by
- More than 180 interviewers and HR professionals mobilised across the venue.
This scale not only highlights the Centre’s ability to facilitate high-volume engagement between industry and students, but also positions the Career Fair as one of the largest coordinated industrial placement mechanisms in the country.
Impact on Students: Opportunities Realised
The core mission of the Interview Day ensuring every student receives a genuine, equitable opportunity to secure their industrial placement was achieved with exceptional effectiveness.
Students were able to directly present their technical competencies, communication skills, and work-readiness to senior industry representatives in a structured, professional setting.
For the NDT 2022 batch, this event marked a pivotal transition point. A significant number of students successfully secured placements on the day itself, while many others advanced through follow-up interviews scheduled by participating companies. The fair thus continues to reinforce ITUM’s long-standing reputation for producing graduates who are immediately deployable in industrial environments.
Recognition of Industry Partnership
The success of the Interview Day and the Career Fair as a whole is built on the consistent support of ITUM’s valued corporate partners. Their participation ensures that students engage with organisations capable of providing meaningful, skill-enhancing training experiences.
The Centre extends its sincere appreciation to all partners, with special acknowledgement of the 2025 sponsors
