A Foundation for Success: Career Readiness Session Launched Ahead of ITUM Career Fair 2025

The Institute of Technology, University of Moratuwa (ITUM) successfully launched a high-impact Special Session on Career Readiness on August 21st, 2025, marking the first major preparatory event leading up to the ITUM Career Fair 2025. Held at the Multifunctional Hall with an enthusiastic audience of over 500 students and staff, the session served as a vital platform to prepare diplomates for the expectations of the professional world.

Strategic Purpose and Organization

The primary objective of the session was to equip students for their upcoming industrial internships and to instill a strong, forward-looking professional mindset as they transition into real-world work environments.

The program was organized by the Industrial Training, Career Guidance, and Post Diploma Education Centre, following an invitation and overall coordination by Dr. Ruchira Wijesena, Head of the Centre. The initiative was executed by the Training Unit, including the dedicated contribution of Eng. Kamalnath Jinadasa, Training Engineer, whose operational support ensured smooth delivery and wide participation.

The large turnout reflects the Centre’s growing capacity to design and deliver meaningful, high-impact professional development experiences for ITUM students.
