The Institute of Technology, University of Moratuwa (ITUM) is Sri Lanka’s leading institution for mid-level technological education, proudly offering the National Diploma in Technology (NDT) a rigorous, practice-oriented program designed to meet the evolving needs of industry and society.
Established over five decades ago, the NDT program has become a national benchmark in technical education, producing highly skilled, work-ready professionals who serve as the backbone of Sri Lanka’s engineering and technology sectors. Conducted entirely in English medium, the program spans two years of academic coursework followed by one full year of structured industrial training, ensuring that every graduate is equipped with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience.
Each year, ITUM admits 800 students across ten specialized disciplines, with academic content tailored to consolidate foundational scientific knowledge in the early semesters and deepen technical expertise in the chosen field by the final year. Our industrial training curriculum, spread over two semesters, is embedded within real-world engineering environments, enabling students to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry application.
